With basketball in full swing around the world, here is an update on how former Mountaineers are faring playing professionally on the hardwood.
Kevin Jones: Through two games with the Canton Charge, Jones is averaging 16 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. He is one of the top NBA prospects playing in the NBDL along with former teammate Devin Ebanks. Both has spent time in the NBA.
Devin Ebanks: In Ebanks’ two games with the Texas Legends, his NBA experience has shown through, with averages of 22.5 points and 11 rebounds per game. His offseason work on defense has paid off as eight of his 11 rebounds per game have come on the defensive end. He’s averaging 2.5 blocks per game. His former WVU teammate, John Flowers, would be proud.
Joe Alexander: Alex-ander has yet to make it into a game as he continues to recover from a stress fracture in his leg.
Da’Sean Butler: After spending a season in Morgantown as a graduate assistant under Bob Huggins, a healthy Butler resumed his playing career by signing with Okapi Aalstar in Belgium. Through nine games, Butler is second on the team in scoring at nearly 17 points per game to go along with five rebounds.
John Flowers: In his first season with JL Bourg (France), Flowers is averaging nearly 13 points and five rebounds per game.
Darryl “Truck” Bryant: Truck plays for the Furstenfeld Panthers in Austria. He leads the team in scoring at 22.1 points per game on 46.8% shooting.
Alex Ruoff: Ruoff is leading the way for BG Goettingen (Germany) with 17.5 points per game, along with five rebounds and three assists per game.
Deniz Kilicli: The “Turk” is coming off the bench during his rookie season with Anadolu Efes in Istanbul. Through six games, he is averaging two points and a rebound at 7 minutes played per game.
D’or Fischer: After getting released by the Washington Wizards following the NBA Preseason, Fischer signed with Brose Baskets in Bamburg Germany.
Rutledge: Rutledge signed with Michelin Etha Engomis in Cyprus.
