Two people, both on supervised release, are facing drug charges after Beckley police say they found 285 grams of heroin.

Michael Gerald Greer, 49, of Beckley, is charged with delivery of a controlled substance (heroin) and conspiracy to commit a felony, Detective Sgt. Jason McDaniel said. Miranda Lynn Bowyer, 23, of Beckley, is charged with possession of heroin with intent to deliver and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Greer and Bowyer were being held Wednesday at Southern Regional Jail.

McDaniel said the arrests came after a lengthy investigation. The two, who McDaniel said are a couple, were stopped in a vehicle on E Street at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday. On Bowyer’s person, police found 285 small individual baggies of heroin with a total street value of $8,550. Police later executed a search warrant on their F Street home and recovered additional evidence.

Greer is on parole after a previous drug conviction in Maryland, McDaniel said. Bowyer is on probation after being charged with fraudulent use of an access device in Raleigh County.
