Authorities are investigating what caused an utility trailer explosion Monday afternoon on Terry Street in Oak Hill.
The explosion was initially reported as a house fire, but when fire crews from Oak Hill and Fayetteville arrived they found it was a small utility trailer ablaze behind the home, a Fayette County dispatcher said.
"It never spread to the house," she said.
There were no injuries reported and the scene was cleared an hour and a half later. The utility trailer suffered heavy fire and water damage to the front.
In addition to the fire crews, deputies from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and troopers from the West Virginia State Police were on scene.
