A local small business accelerator is scheduled to host an open house next week.

WV Hive officials welcome the community Tuesday, May 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. to the annual open house, which will be paired with the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours.

This year’s WV Hive entrepreneur, small business and partner awards will be presented during the event.

“Our mission is to build an entrepreneurial culture in southern West Virginia," said Judy Moore, director of the WV Hive Network. "We do this through our one-on-one business advising and technical assistance support to entrepreneurs and small business owners, but also through the educational workshops we provide and the conduct of business idea competitions."

Also during the event, Michael Graney, executive director of the West Virginia Development Office, and Beckley Mayor Rob Rappold will offer remarks.

Networking and tours will take place from 5 to 5:30 p.m.; the awards presentation will be held from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.; and the ceremony will be held from 6:15 to 7 p.m.

Moore added, “We are extremely proud of the work being done by the Hive to support entrepreneurs and small business owners who are contributing hugely to the economic revitalization in southern West Virginia.”

The WV Hive is located at 282 Minnesota Avenue in Beckley on the first floor of the WVU Tech Innovation Building.
