Pamela D. Asbury recently joined First Community Bank as a community banking manager.
She will supervise community banking operations in the Bluefield, Logan and Wyoming divisions, and will be headquartered at the Bluefield, Va., branch on Federal Street.
Born in southwest Virginia, Asbury grew up in Pearisburg and attended Giles High School before studying business management at Walker College in Alabama. Her professional resume includes stints at Valley Bank, New People’s Bank, and honors as the top-producing sales manager for Compass Bank in Birmingham, Ala.
Asbury has devoted 30 years to the banking and financial industry. She officially embarked on her career with First Community Bank on April 1, and Bluefield Market President Larry Ratliff welcomed her experience and work ethic with eager anticipation.
“We are very pleased to have Pam joining our First Community Bank family. She brings a wealth of financial services experience and will provide exceptional leadership to our retail banking group in southwest Virginia and southern West Virginia,” Ratliff said. “I look forward to working closely with Pam as we strive to provide the positive banking experiences that our clients expect and deserve.”
For her part, Asbury said she is thrilled to work at the company that aims to be its clients’ first financial resource in a close-knit region.
“I am delighted to join First Community Bank and very excited to be a part of such a successful banking institution,” she said.
