The West Virginia Small Business Development Center will offer a free business fundamentals workshop Monday, May 6, in Greenbrier County.

The workshop, set for 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., will be at the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation office, 804 Industrial Park Road, Suite 5, Maxwelton.

Business Coach Shannon Mitchell will lead the session, which covers what entrepreneurs need to know to start a business in West Virginia. Attendees can learn practical basics such as getting a business license, identifying the market and writing a business plan that can build credibility with potential lenders.

First Microloan of West Virginia is sponsoring WV SBDC business fundamentals live and online workshops through Sept. 30. The sponsorship allows WV SBDC to offer the workshops without the standard $35 registration fee.

To register, visit the WV SBDC website wvsbdc.com and click on “training calendar” or contact Business Coach Shannon Mitchell, 304-553-2805, Shannon.H.Mitchell@wv.gov
