A Pineville woman was killed in an early morning accident Wednesday on W.Va. 10 in Wyoming County.

A 2006 Chevrolet truck driven by Kelene Belcher, 34, of Oceana apparently veered left of center, striking a 2000 Chevrolet truck driven by Tina Cook, 36, of Pineville, according to Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Johnson.

The call came in just before 8:30 a.m. The accident occurred between Pineville and Rockview, Johnson said.

Both women had to be extricated, the deputy said.

Cook was dead at the scene.

Belcher was transported by HealthNet to Charleston Area Medical Center. She was in ICU Wednesday afternoon, Johnson said.

Along with the Wyoming Sheriff’s Department, the Pineville Volunteer Fire Department responded.

The investigation is continuing.
