Three Missouri men wanted in Virginia on charges of alleged homicide were apprehended without incident early Wednesday near Pax, according to police.

“At approximately 1:52 a.m., State Police units assigned to the West Virginia Turnpike were advised of a BOL (be on lookout) for three male suspects traveling in a Toyota Son vehicle with Missouri registration,” said State Police Capt. T.L. Phillips. “The men were believed to be wanted in Virginia regarding an alleged homicide.”

At approximately 2:21 a.m., State Police Cpl. C.B. Payne observed a vehicle matching the description traveling on Interstate 64 near the split with Interstate 77.

“The trooper caught up with the vehicle, radioed dispatch and confirmed the registration,” Phillips said. “He then called his supervisor, Sgt. J.K. Rapp, who was waiting at mile post 44.”

Phillips said Payne followed the vehicle without using his police lights until Rapp was able to join him in pursuit of the vehicle.

“They wanted to stop the vehicle at a safe location with little traffic and no median,” Phillips said. “They wanted the northbound lanes to be the only ones the suspect could attempt to flee on.”

At mile marker 50, police initiated the stop and the suspect’s vehicle immediately pulled over to the shoulder of the highway.

“The three suspects were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody without incident,” Phillips said.

Police apprehended Jermaine Holliman, 34, of Lees Summit, Mo.; Joseph Jackson, 30, of Kansas City, Mo.; and Devin Wilson, 21, of Independence, Mo.

Phillips said the State Police were assisted by Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department deputies.

After the suspects were processed, they were taken to Southern Regional Jail.

“Investigators from Henrico County, Va., are on their way to Beckley to continue their investigation,” Phillips said.

Phillips said she did not have any details regarding the three men’s alleged crime or crimes in Virginia and did not know if they would be extradited to Virginia.
