LEWISBURG — Scott Pelley, former chief White House correspondent for “CBS Evening News” and current “60 Minutes” correspondent, will speak to the Lewisburg Rotary Club Monday, according to past president George Williams.
“Scott has been at CBS News for 17 years, having worked as a war correspondent in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait and the former Yugoslavia,” Williams said.
Pelley has been honored with four Emmy Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Award and by the Writers’ Guild of America. His accomplishments include four presidential interviews, numerous national political campaigns and reporting form the World Trade Center as tower one collapsed.
“I’m sure he will bring Rotary a unique perspective on the current world crisis,” Williams said.
Non-Rotarians who wish to attend are asked to call Williams at 466-3782. The meeting will be 1 p.m. at the Lewisburg Elks Club.
