A Raleigh County nonprofit "Grantsmanship Workshop," sponsored by the Beckley Area Foundation, is set for June 21 in Beckley. 

BAF’s workshop presenter, Violet Burdette of MountainHeart Community Services, Inc., will explain the start-to-finish process of writing a successful grant, giving participants the tips, tricks, and techniques to write their own.

“We are excited to share Ms. Burdette’s experience working with local, state and federal funders, foundations and businesses," BAF Executive Director Dena Cushman said in the release. "This is a great opportunity for nonprofit staff and board members who have an interest in leveraging grant opportunities for their organizations." 

The workshop will be held June 21 at the Beckley Area Foundation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Registration is required by June 17.

The BAF is also holding a GrantSeekers event June 20 at Black Knight Municipal Park from 5 to 7 p.m.

Participating nonprofits will share stories about the programming they provide within our communities. Organizations making a difference in the areas of arts, animal welfare, civic beautification, education, economic development, health and human resources, public recreation, and public safety will be on hand.
