To help strengthen regional partnerships and improve outcomes, a free perinatal health conference will be held Wednesday, June 26. 

Set for 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Tamarack, the conference invites individuals who work with pregnant/postpartum women or infants in Mercer, McDowell, Monroe, Raleigh, Summers and Wyoming counties to gather for learning, resource sharing and networking.

Right From the Start Region 1, CASEWV, and West Virginia Perinatal Partnership will be in attendance. 

Topics during the event include current statistics of perinatal health in the region; maternal mental health and psychiatric treatment in the perinatal population; the value of West Virginia home visitation programs; substance use in the perinatal population; smoking cessation and the impact of smoking; breastfeeding and more.
