Wyoming County has hit cyberspace — at least information concerning the county government has.

The new Web site, www.wyomingcounty.com, is up and running.

The site provides information concerning courthouse offices, from the assessor to the sheriff’s department.

Assessor Mike Cook has been working with county officials, collecting information and other data, since January.

The site has pages for the assessor’s office, the circuit clerk, county clerk, county commission, prosecutor, magistrates, circuit judge, and sheriff’s department, along with other information and links to related sites.

Forms relating to various county services can also be downloaded from the site.

Election returns will also be available in real time on the site, according to county Clerk Mike Goode.

Returns will be posted as they come into the courthouse, under the legislative tab, on the site, Goode explained.

As a result, the “big board,” where election results were posted in the courthouse lobby for decades, will be replaced with a Power Point projection of the returns from the Web site, he noted.

Cook believes the site offers a one-stop center for those in need of information concerning county government and will make county services more accessible to residents.
