Winterplace opens today

Winterplace Ski Resort is officially open for business today.

The resort says at least 14 trails and five lifts will open today, while snowtubing will open at a later date.

The resort has once again increased its snowmaking power this season by adding additional snowmaking equipment, including 34 fully automated snow guns, Winterplace president Terry Pfeiffer said.

“Winterplace has expanded the ski resort for the 17th consecutive year,” he added.

The resort has included in the expansion the widening of Nose Dive, one of the resort’s expert slopes.

It has also added additional top-of-the-line Rossignol skis and snowboards to its rental equipment fleet this season.
