Personnel from the Trap Hill Volunteer Fire Department along with Jan-Care and Best ambulances work to extricate the driver of a tanker truck that overturned on W.Va. 3 in Eccles Tuesday. According to the Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center, W.Va. 3 near Old Eccles Road was closed after the accident. Evergreen Environmental Management was called to the scene to clean up spilled diesel fuel, and the driver was believed to have been taken to a local hospital. The wreckage was reportedly cleaned up by late afternoon.

Students who participated in a school fundraiser at Cranberry-Prosperity Elementary School sprayed their principal Becky Smith during a hot Friday. Smith was decked out in flippers, goggles and floaties during the fun. Smith paraded past students as they drenched her with water guns.

On Friday, James C. Justice II, chairman, president and CEO of James C. Justice Companies Inc. and The Greenbrier resort, along with L. Allen Bennett Jr., chairman of Wintergreen Partners Inc., announced the signing of a merger agreement which provides for the acquisition of Wintergreen Resort in Virginia by the Justice family. -
