Dog and cat owners can provide rabies protection at a reduced cost for pets during a series of vaccination clinics scheduled across the county Saturday, Nov. 14.
The Wyoming County Small Animal Clinic will provide the rabies vaccinations for $5 per shot. Other vaccinations will be available at reduced rates as well.
With an upswing in the number of rabies cases in the eastern portion of West Virginia, officials want to work to protect the local pet population and in turn the public health, said Fred Cox, county sanitarian.
Clinics will be held as follows:
- 9-10 a.m. at Tralee transfer station, W. Va. Rt. 10
- 10:40-11:20 a.m. at Milam Creek picnic shelter, McGraws
- noon-1 p.m. at Pineville Palisades Park
- 1:45-2:45 p.m. at Baileysville Elementary and Middle School, covered area in front
- 3:30-4 p.m. at Cyclone Fire Department
- 4:30-5:15 p.m. at Oceana park shelter
County tax tags for dogs will also be available from the Wyoming County Assessor’s office during the clinics for $3 each.
Additional clinic sponsors include the Wyoming County Commission, Wyoming County Health Department, and Wyoming County Animal Control.
