Dozens of riders from across the region are expected to participate in the Patriotic Run May 10 kicking off in Iaeger, including Gov. Joe Manchin.
The benefit ride is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, to benefit the Iaeger Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard.
Registration will begin at 10 a.m. on Main Street in Iaeger, according to organizer Charlie Lambert.
Cost is $15 for singles and $20 for double riders.
Lambert emphasized the honor guard members perform services for no cost and, in many instances, use their own money to cover costs.
Riders are expected to depart Iaeger around 11:30 a.m., travel to R.D. Bailey Lake, then on to Pineville, where cyclists will stop at Pineville Middle School for refreshments.
Lambert lauded the efforts of Pineville Mayor Tim Ellison, who has assisted in the local leg of the trek.
The caravan will then ride on to Welch and make another stop at the Veterans Memorial in Premier, then finally back to Iaeger, Lambert explained.
All riders will be presented a 4x6 flag upon registration; those flags will be left at the memorial in Premier, Lambert said.
All licensed motorcycles are welcome to participate.
A police escort will be provided.
