Three murder suspects in custody

All three suspects sought in the Sept. 26 murder of Shawn Rucker are in police custody.

The final suspect, Dwayne Lane, 22, of Beckley, was arrested Friday at 3 p.m. without incident on Ohio Street in Bluefield, according to Sgt. D.W. Miller of the West Virginia State Police detachment near Princeton. Miller made the arrest along with Sgt. C.K. McKenzie after receiving an anonymous tip.

Lane is awaiting arraignment in Mercer County before he is transferred back to Raleigh County, according to Miller.

Cornealius “Ty” Taylor, 20, another suspect, turned himself in at the Beckley Police Department around midnight Friday, according to Capt. Jeff Shumate.

He is being held at Southern Regional Jail.

Detective M. Bragg confirmed that the first suspect arrested, Alfred Pittman, 23, was taken into custody Thursday around 7 p.m. at a Charleston hospital.

Pittman was arraigned by a Charleston magistrate, then brought to SRJ by Beckley Police.

Bond has not been set for Pittman or Taylor.
