Why wear uncomfortable dress clothes to work when the option for comfy jeans is available? You can forget your dress code. Well, you can for one week if your workplace is participating in the United Way of Southern West Virginia’s annual Denim for a Difference fundraiser.
Businesses, schools and other organizations that register with the United Way will permit their employees to wear jeans to work Oct. 15-19.
For a $5 donation, you get one day of denim wear; $10 gets you a three-day pass; and for $15, you can wear jeans to work for the entire week.
You get to be comfortable and the United Way of Southern West Virginia gets bucks toward its $500,000 fundraising goal. It’s a win-win.
The United Way uses the money to fund the 32 nonprofit community organizations is supports in Raleigh, Fayette, Summers, Nicholas and Wyoming counties.
Last October, nearly $15,000 was raised during the promotion.
To register, contact Teresa Tucker at the United Way office at 304-253-2111 or by e-mail to ttucker@unitedwayswv.org. The registration deadline is Oct. 12.
