The Raleigh County STOP Team (Raleigh County Family Violence Task Force) has been awarded the 2013 U.S. Attorney’s Law Enforcement and Victim Assistance Award.
U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said the Raleigh County STOP Team was nominated because of its “exemplary efforts to end violence against women through a team approach to investigation, prosecution and prevention.”
Core team members include Beckley Police Chief Tim Deems, Capt. Cheri Mullins and Detective Morgan Bragg; Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Keller and Assistant Prosecutor Pat Lamp; Women’s Resource Center Executive Director Patricia Bailey and victim advocates Ashley White, Leslie Duncan and Leslie Mateer.
These team members will be honored at a ceremony and reception Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Robert C. Byrd U.S. Courthouse in Charleston.
