Second man apprehended in connection with fatal Beckley shooting

Police still searching for unidentified juvenile

— A second man has been arrested in connection with a Saturday night shooting that led to the death of a Beckley man, according to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.

Antonio LeJune Wade, 28, of Beckley, is being charged with unlawful possession of a deadly weapon by a convicted felon.

Wade, along with Dominic Paige, 22, and an unnamed juvenile were leaving a house on Cohen Street and were attempting to turn their vehicle around in the driveway of a residence being occupied by 54-year-old Danny Kennedy, according to police.

Police say the vehicle got stuck and a verbal dispute ensued among the three and Kennedy. Paige then allegedly shot Kennedy, who was transported to an area hospital and later died, police said.

Deputies located Paige and took him into custody Sunday. Police are still searching for the juvenile and the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with further information about this crime is asked to call 304-255-9300.
