A Page man was wounded by a West Virginia state trooper Thursday night after the man brandished a hand gun as a search warrant was being executed.
A press release from the West Virginia State Police says troopers from the Oak Hill detachment and troopers assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations served the warrant about 10 p.m. in relation to an open criminal investigation on South Page Bottom Road in Page.
The resident, Ronald Reese, 55, brandished a handgun toward them. Authorities say Reese refused to obey commands to drop the weapon and was shot and wounded by one of the troopers.
He was transported to Charleston Area Medical Center.
