THE SUMMIT — Scouts take in the breathtaking view from atop the CONSOL Energy Bridge Monday at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. CONSOL donated $15 million for the design and construction of the bridge, which connects the main center of the camp to the eastern half of the property. It is also referred to as a “wing-tip bridge” for its unique eagle-wing shape and features. The pedestrian bridge has three separate walkways, two of which bend above and below the main span. The total length of the bridge is 786 feet and the deck is 110 feet above the deepest point of the valley.
