SPRAGUE —
A Sprague man was fatally shot by a Beckley man Saturday night after a verbal dispute, according to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a shooting Saturday night on Cohen Street in Sprague and found that Danny Kennedy, 54, had sustained a single gunshot wound.
Kennedy was transported to a local hospital where he later passed away.
Police report that three people had left a neighbor’s house and attempted to turn around in Kennedy’s driveway. The vehicle got stuck in Kennedy’s yard and a verbal dispute ensued among the three and Kennedy.
Kennedy returned inside his home, according to police, but then came back out and exchanged words with the three again. He was then shot once and the three people fled on foot.
Deputies located Dominic Paige, 22, of Beckley, and took him into custody.
Paige is being charged with the murder of Kennedy.
Police are still searching for a juvenile and Antonio Wade, both of the Beckley area, for their connection in the crime.
Wade is wanted for felony firearm possession and questioning by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call 304-255-9300.
