A West Virginia University journalism professor says the school’s proposal for a new policy on Freedom of Information requests would violate state law.
Bonnie Stewart made her objections during a public comment period that ended this month. She says the proposal is contrary to the spirit and letter of West Virginia’s Freedom of Information Act.
Among other aspects, the new policy would require a fee of $1 per page for copies of documents of 11 or more pages. The current fee is half that.
