West Virginia University’s School of Medicine will conduct a national search for its new dean.
Health Science Chancellor Christopher Colenda did not give a timeline for when the search would begin, other than to say it would begin soon.
Dr. Jim Brick has been serving as the school’s interim dean since the resignation of Dr. John Prescott in April 2008.
Prescott is now the chief academic officer of the Association of American Medical Colleges in Washington, D.C. Colenda said Patricia Chase, dean of WVU’s pharmacy school, will lead the search for the new medical school dean.
