WEST LOGAN —
A doctor is facing a federal drug charge following a raid of his office in Logan County.
Media outlets report that police arrested 47-year-old Dr. Fernando Gonzalez-Ramos on Sunday afternoon. He’s charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
He is accused of providing prescriptions for painkillers to hundreds of patients at his office in West Logan.
West Virginia State Police Sgt. M.S. Lively says patients waiting for a prescription were lined up at Gonzalez-Ramos’ office when members of a drug task force arrived Sunday morning.
Gonzalez-Ramos declined to comment on his arrest.
