Another company is kicking in support for West Virginia University’s new Natural Gas Education Program.
EQT Corp. of Pittsburgh, the largest natural gas producer in the Appalachian basin, is giving the Extension Service $25,000. Company spokesman Kevin West says the importance of the oil and gas industry to the state economy is growing every year.
Last month, Virginia-based Dominion provided $50,000 to start the public-education program.
Industry expects WVU Extension to provide unbiased information to people affected by exploration, drilling and production.
