LOGAN — A member of the Logan County school board is facing a federal tax evasion charge.
A court document says Allison Lambert filed a false income tax return in 2009. While her return listed her 2008 taxable income was $168,995, the document says Lambert knew the amount was substantially higher. Likewise, the document says she also paid less money in taxes than she should have.
Lambert declined to comment about the charge to the Logan Banner newspaper. However, she was charged in a document called an information, which can’t be filed without a defendant’s consent and typically signals cooperation with prosecutors.
Lambert did say that she hasn’t decided whether she’ll resign. The Man resident’s term ends this year and she is not seeking re-election.
