CHARLESTON —
West Virginia is sponsoring a contest to find the best photographs to feature in its eighth annual 2011 “Roadsides in Bloom” calendar.
The contest sponsored by the state departments of environmental protection and transportation normally attracts more than 100 entries.
Twelve winners will be selected to represent the months of the year and a grand prize winner’s photo will be displayed on the calendar cover.
Photographs must show wildflowers growing naturally or in an Operation Wildflower bed planted by the Division of Highways along a West Virginia road. The road must be prominently visible in the photo.
The deadline for entries is Oct. 1.
