CHARLESTON (AP) — The West Virginia Public Service Commission has approved a rate increase for customers of Mountaineer Gas Co.
But because of a commission-ordered reduction in the company’s costs for purchasing natural gas, residents should see their monthly bills actually go down an average of $44.
On Friday, the PSC approved a 4 percent increase effective March 29 followed on Nov. 1 by another .07 percent increase.
The company sought a 6.6 percent rate increase.
Mountaineer serves more than 220,000 customers across West Virginia.
