CHARLESTON (AP) — A Charleston woman has pleaded guilty to duct-taping a 2-year-old boy she was baby-sitting.
Twenty-six-year-old Della Jackson pleaded guilty Wednesday in Kanawha County Circuit Court to one count of felony child abuse creating risk of serious bodily injury or death.
She was one of three people accused in late January of using duct tape around the boy’s the boy’s arms, ankle, torso and mouth and forcing him to sleep in his car seat.
As part of a plea bargain with prosecutors, Jackson agreed to testify against James Usher and the boy’s mother, Jessica McClure, who wasn’t home at the time. Usher and McClure are scheduled for a June trial. Jackson’s sentencing is set for June 24.
