Shannon leads Woodrow win; Weiford 3 keys Spartans

— RIPLEY — Senior Cameron Shannon led a balanced Flying Eagle attack with 24 points as Woodrow rolled past Ripley Monday.

Christian Day added 11 points and Andrew Johnson chipped in 10 for Woodrow Wilson.

Casey Smith scored 16 points to lead Ripley.

Woodrow Wilson (15-3) travels to sectional rival Princeton Wednesday.

PRINCETON — Derrick Weiford hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Spartans a big Class AAA Region 3, Section 2 win over Princeton Monday night.

Mike McCormick had 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way. Hunter Roberts had 12 points and Obi Romeo added 10.

Hunter Walters led Princeton with 21 points. Ryan Meadows had 13 and Darnell Palmer had 10.

Greenbrier East is at Nitro Wednesday while Princeton hosts Woodrow Wilson.

Summers County 43, Trap Hill 40

HINTON — Matt Ryan had 19 points and Caleb Harrah added nine points and 10 rebounds to lead Summers.

Ryan, who also had five assists, gave Summers the lead on a jumper with 17 seconds left.

Zach Epling led Trap Hill with 15 and Devin Acord added 12.

Summers County (6-11) plays Western Greenbrier in the Bluegrass Conference Tournament Feb. 23.
