BETHESDA, Md. — The Falcons fell behind USA Today No. 1 Findlay early and could never make up the difference at the ESPN Rise National Invitational Tournament.
MSU Academy (23-7) trailed 21-11 after one period of play, but battled more or less evenly the rest of the way.
Tristan Thompson led Findlay (31-0) with 20 points. Thompson, the country’s top-rated junior, has verbally committed to Texas.
Another Texas signee, McDonalds All-American Avery Bradley, scored 15 points while UNLV recruit Carlos Lopez netted 14 and future Illinois player D.J. Richardson scored 10. Uncommitted junior Cory Joseph also hit double figures with 13 points.
Junior guard Noah Cottrill, who has committed to West Virginia, led the Falcons with 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Najee Whitehead added 16 points.
Findley plays Montrose Christian (Md.) today in the tournament semifinal.

MONTCALM — Johnna Minor recorded 10 strikeouts against two walks to lift the Falcons.
Nora Davis and Emily Hayhurst backed Minor with two hits apiece.
Beckley Little League parents meeting
Beckley Little League’s annual parents meeting will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center, rooms A and B. Team assignments will be announced. All parents, managers and coaches are requested to attend.
