The third annual Central West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show returns to Summersville next weekend. The show features more than 28,000 square feet of exhibitor space within the Summersville Arena.
Show promoter Bill Picozzi said the show will consist of everything related to the outdoors — the latest in hunting and fishing equipment, boats, campers, canoes, outdoor gear, camping equipment, hunting and fishing guides, jet skis, four-wheelers, tourism and travel.
In addition, Picozzi pointed out, outfitters will be on hand from both Canada and the United States, including from as far away as Alaska.
Two seminars will be provided on both Saturday and Sunday by Capt. David Whitt and David Lusk regarding small-mouth bass fishing and white-tail deer hunting, respectively.
Picozzi described Whitt as a renowned small-mouth bass fisherman. Seminars and demonstrations will be offered daily by hunting and fishing professionals.
The show is billed as “central West Virginia’s largest hunting and fishing show.” The first 50 kids between the ages of 6 and 12 to arrive each day of the show will receive a free tackle box with tackle.
Other attractions include a wildlife display, a live zoo filled with wild animals and a live snake display.
You will also be able to fish for live trout in an indoor trout tank. “Keep what you catch, and fish for valuable prizes,” Picozzi declared, adding the show features loads of free give-aways and valuable door prizes.
The show offers the best buys of the year, he said, for fishing and hunting supplies, boats, campers, all-terrain vehicles, archery equipment, hunting and fishing trips, the latest outdoor equipment and much more.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
