SNOWSHOE — The Raven Golf Club at Snowshoe Mountain will open for the 2008 season Monday.
The Gary Player-designed course was named the top public access course in West Virginia for a sixth straight year, and has also been named one of the Top 100 resort courses in the country by Golfweek magazine.
Beautifully situated in the Allegheny foothills, the course is etched into the mountainside and offers stunning vistas of the surrounding valleys. The rolling greens take advantage of the unique location, with elevation changes of up to 200 feet. In addition to the 18-hole championship course, The Raven is home to a driving range, putting green, full-service pro shop, as well as the Raven Grille, the perfect spot for lunch or a cold drink after a day on the links.
In addition to the breathtaking locale, guests of The Raven benefit from Snowshoe’s comfortable summer climate. The area experiences little to no humidity, so afternoons on the greens are enjoyed in the warm mountain sunshine. The Raven’s season lasts until early October.
Season passes are now available and early-season rates apply through May 31. Special golf lodging rates are available, and rounds of golf may be added to many of Snowshoe’s event lodging packages.

Summer will kick into high gear atop Snowshoe Mountain over the long Memorial Day weekend. The resort’s top-rated mountain bike park, as well as lake and adventure activities, will open on Friday, May 23.
