The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating two suspects in a noon home invasion Tuesday in Hilltop.
Fayette County 911 Center received a call reporting a home invasion robbery in the area of 1078 Prudence Road in Hilltop, according to Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler.
When deputies arrived at the home they found a 58-year-old victim with serious head injuries.
The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, was transported to Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill and his condition is unknown.
Kessler said the victim was asleep when two male perpetrators forced their way into the residence through a window.
The suspect attacked the homeowner, reportedly beating him in the head with an electric heater.
Police said the perpetrators were looking for drugs but only a Walther .380 pistol was stolen from the victim.
Both suspects were masked and no description has been made available.
The sheriff said deputies were still investigating the scene at 3 p.m. and the Fayette County K-9 Unit is searching the area in attempt to locate the perpetrators.
Anyone with information concerning this incident is urged to contact the Fayette County 911 Call Center at 304-574-1610 or Crime Stoppers at 304-255-7867.
