Man on parole arrested for Beaver break-ins

— A local man was arrested in February after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home in Beaver, according to a press release from the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives are working to see if the man is the same person who had been breaking into cars and homes in the area.

Ronnie Dale Keeney, 26, of Beaver allegedly went into a woman’s house and stole a large amount of change after she went outside to get her mail, the release says.

Detectives are checking to see if there is a link between this crime and similar burglaries and break-ins that had been taking place in the Beaver, Daniels and Shady Spring areas during the same time-frame.

“We have received fewer reports of break-ins in the area, but we can't confirm that it’s because of this arrest,” Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department’s Lt. Larry Lilly said. “It might just be due to the fact that people are keeping a good eye out for the person doing all of this. We just don’t know yet.”

Keeney was on parole at the time of the alleged crime and was jailed by parole officers before he was formally charged with burglary.

If anyone has any information about the break-ins in the area or any other crimes, police ask that they call Crime Stoppers at 304-255-STOP or the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office at 304-255-9300.
