Wyoming police ID dozens of drug suspects

By Mary Catherine Brooks
Wyoming County Bureau Chief

PINEVILLE — Law enforcement officials in Wyoming County on Monday released the names of dozens of suspects arrested over the weekend on warrants charging them with alleged illegal drug activity.

Warrants were issued for 37 suspects, and they included more than 100 felony counts, according to officials.

Prescription pills, cash and weapons were also confiscated in the sweep.

In conjunction with the Southern Violent Crime and Drug Task Force, West Virginia State Police and Pineville Police Department, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department has been working this investigation for more than a year, Sheriff Randall Aliff said.

“These investigations don’t happen overnight,” he emphasized. “We’ve got video buys on these dealers.

“We’ve made other drug arrests all along during this year,” the sheriff noted. “This is ongoing.”
