Robbery attempt reported

BRADLEY — The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office confirmed an attempted robbery at Eddie’s Market in Bradley at approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday.

In a press release, RCSD said a male suspect entered the store demanding money. He held the clerk at knife point, but the clerk yelled for the owner and set off an alarm, according to police.

The man exited the store and was chased by the owner, the press release said. The suspect was picked up by a second suspect across the street, driving in the direction of Crossroads. The owner was unable to get the license plate number. Deputies have since located the vehicle and are questioning the suspects.

The robbery attempt remains under investigation by Cpl. R.L. Bircham and members of the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau.

Raleigh grand jury hands down 89 indictments
The mother and stepfather accused in the death of a 2-year-old boy were among the 89 indictments handed down by the Raleigh County Grand Jury.
Brandy Smallwood, 28, and James Green, 24, both of Fairdale, were charged Feb. 10 in connection with the death of 2-year-old Graydon Morgan.
Green was indicted for first degree murder, death of a child by child abuse, child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, child neglect resulting in death and child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury.
