Suspects arrested for role in armed robbery

Two Mount Hope men are in custody for allegedly committing armed robbery March 8 at Eddie’s Market in Bradley.

Emmanuel Green, 26, and Leonard Higginbotham, 19, are both charged with first degree robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony and child neglect with risk of injury, the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

The sheriff’s office said that child neglect charge was brought against the men because Green’s young child was in the vehicle at the time of the robbery.

Green was being processed Thursday afternoon by Raleigh County sheriff’s deputies. Higginbotham was arrested by the Mount Hope Police Department.

The mother and stepfather accused in the death of a 2-year-old boy were among the 89 indictments handed down by the Raleigh County Grand Jury.
Brandy Smallwood, 28, and James Green, 24, both of Fairdale, were charged Feb. 10 in connection with the death of 2-year-old Graydon Morgan.
Green was indicted for first degree murder, death of a child by child abuse, child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, child neglect resulting in death and child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury.
