Princeton man charged with attempted murder

BECKLEY — One man has been charged with attempted first degree murder, among other charges, following a shooting that took place early Sunday morning, according to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department. 

Craig Alan Day, 25, of Princeton, was charged with attempted first degree murder, three counts of wanton endangerment and destruction of property following the shooting of Joseph Dwayne Cernuto, 25, that happened at 2:58 a.m., outside Billie Joe’s Bar at 240 N. Eisenhower Drive.

Cernuto was transported to Raleigh General Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

This incident remains under investigation by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department.
