Hinton Police arrested a local man July 12 and charged him with being a fugitive from justice.
Hinton Police Department Chief D.S. Snavely said police in Sequatchie County, Tenn., asked Hinton officials to arrest Matthew Lewis Grant, 27, of Hinton.
Grant was wanted on five felony drug-related charges and two charges of violations of probation for a DUI offense in Tennessee.
Summers County deputies had arrested Grant earlier in the year on a DUI charge but had refused to extradite him to Tennessee since he had, at that time, only one limited capias, said Snavely.
In May, Sequatchie grand jurors handed down additional charges.
At the request of Tennessee police, Hinton police arrested Grant for extradition. Grant is a West Virginia native, Snavely said.
