The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the injury Monday of a juvenile in the Harper Heights area.
According to Detective Sgt. Larry Lilly, the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Police said a juvenile was found injured and unresponsive, and was still hospitalized Tuesday afternoon.
The juvenile had reportedly been playing with other children when the injury occurred.
Authorities say initial indications point to the injury resulting from an accident, but the incident is still under investigation.
