BECKLEY — Two Beckley men were sentenced Wednesday for unrelated first degree robbery charges.

Ryan Amos Bailey, 25, was charged with brandishing a knife and attempting to get money from a cashier Oct. 3, 2012, at the Beckley Flea Market on Eisenhower Drive.

Police said when the victim refused to give him money, he fled the area just as Beckley Police pulled into the parking lot. Bailey was apprehended shortly thereafter by Lt. Paul Blume.

Bailey pleaded guilty Wed-nesday to first degree robbery and was sentenced by Ra-leigh County Circuit Court Judge H.L. Kirkpatrick to 10 years in the penitentiary.

Bailey was also charged with an escape from the custody of the Divisions of Corrections, but Raleigh County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Andy Dimlich said that charge was dismissed.

Chadwick Brian Ellis, 29, also pleaded guilty Wednesday to first degree robbery.

Police said Ellis approach-ed a cashier June 26 at the Eisenhower Drive Little General Store and ordered her to give him all of her money or he said he was going to shoot her.

He did not actually possess or brandish a weapon, but the cashier used her cell phone to call 911. Ellis tried to get the cell phone from her, but he was unsuccessful and he fled the store without receiving any money.

Kirkpatrick sentenced Ellis to 10 years in the penitentiary.
