A Summers County man and a Beckley woman face burglary and larceny charges after they led Summers sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit Saturday, ramming a cruiser before being apprehended, authorities said.
Cpl. T.J. Cochran said Chief Deputy James Chellis recovered film at the scene of a break-in near Judson that helped him locate the suspect vehicle.
“I was called out to assist Chellis near Ramp Road and the vehicle came toward me head-on at approximately 80 miles per hour,” Cochran said. “As we started up a gravel road, the suspect lost control, put the vehicle into reverse and rammed backwards into my car.”
Jason Pittman, 25, and Kelli Tolliver, 31, were each charged with three counts of burglary and three counts of grand larceny. They were being held Saturday at Southern Regional Jail.
Deputies John Farmer and Shawn Conner, two Hinton police officers, and State Police Trooper Greg Reed also responded to the scene.
