Raleigh County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a driver they say ran over a pedestrian’s foot and kept going.
Around 2 p.m. Sunday, a 48-year-old man from Cool Ridge was walking alongside Ritter Drive (U.S. 19) in Glen Morgan, according to a release from Deputy J.L. Redden. The alleged victim told deputies a maroon Jeep CJ7 struck his left leg and ran over his left foot.
The victim told deputies the passenger yelled swear words out the window as the vehicle passed, Redden said. The vehicle, occupied by two people described as younger white men, fled toward Beckley on Ritter Drive. The victim was taken to Raleigh General Hospital.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any other information is asked to contact the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department at 304-255-9300 or Crime Stoppers at 304-255-7867.
Cpl. M.P. Webb and Deputy R.L. Bircham Jr. assisted at the scene.
