Man uses stolen forklift to try to steal ATM machine

Raleigh County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man who stole a forklift and used it in an attempt to either break into or steal an ATM machine in Beaver early Saturday morning.

Deputies said the unidentified white male stole the forklift from a business in Beaver around 3:15 a.m.

They said the man drove the forklift to the City National Bank branch in Beaver in an attempt to either gain access to the machine or take it as a whole.

The suspect was ultimately unsuccessful.

Deputies said the man eventually drove the forklift back to the business and parked it before fleeing the scene.

Anyone with information on the incident can contact Deputy C.D. Suman at 304-255-9300.
