Bradley-Prosperity was one of three fire departments dispatched to a structure fire Saturday.
At approximately 3 p.m., Bradley-Prosperity, Beaver and Mabscott were called out to a one-story home on Hunt Avenue off Ragland Road in Stanaford.
According to Bradley-Prosperity Fire Chief Bruce James, a neighbor noticed sparks coming out of the attic and reported the fire.
Firefighters shoveled the insulation out and used foam to prevent water damage. James said they spent two hours on the call and were able to confine the blaze to the attic.
A definitive cause of the fire was not reported, but James said it appeared to have been electrical.
“The lady still has her house, so she’s fortunate,” he said.
The resident was in the home during the fire, but no injuries resulted.
