Stanaford store robbed Tuesday

The search is on for a male suspect who allegedly robbed the Smith’s Corner Packette on Stanaford Road in Piney View.

The incident happened around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday when a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a camouflage mask entered the store and demanded money from the clerk while brandishing a knife, according to a press release from the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.

The clerk complied and the man left with undisclosed amount of cash. It is believed that the offender left the area in a vehicle, the release stated.
