— According to a release from West Virginia State Police Cpl. R.A. Daniel, State Police and the West Virginia Parole Services Department are trying to locate Christopher Lee Preston, 35.

Preston is from the Beckley area and  is a registered sex offender due to a 1998 conviction of 3rd degree sexual abuse involving a 15-year-old girl in Raleigh County. He is described as a black male, 6’1” and about 350 pounds.

In March an investigation began in Kanawha County about a possible sexual assault involving Preston and a female acquaintance. While authorities were searching for him, Preston fled with the female.
